Overhaul of buy-to-let sector in Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland is consulting on ways to overhaul the Buy-to-Let sector, including a central scheme for tenants’ deposits, longer periods of notice to quit for long term tenants, introduction of new quality standards.

Social Development Minister Margaret Ritchie commented "We have put an enormous amount of work into devising the first ever comprehensive strategy for the sector and we now want to get the views of the public.”
