Can another Housing Minister Sort Out the Problems?
Can yet another new housing minister get to grips with the ongoing problems, asks Paul Shamplina, Director, Landlord Action.
In response to the appointment of John Healey to Minister of State (Housing), Department for Communities and Local Housing following the resignation of Margaret Beckett last week, Paul Shamplina, Director and co founder of Landlord Action, a company specialising in tenant eviction comments, “the housing industry takes another deep breath as to whether yet a further housing minister can get to grips with the ongoing problem of lack of mortgages being approved and the new build market being stagnated. With the shortage of housing in the social market sector, caused by the increase in repossessions, ever increasing, the government should be reaching out to private landlords to incentivise them for their properties. I look forward to seeing what , if any, changes are made to address these issues.”
