We've got the power!!!!!!

Landlords are winning in the power stakes this year according to new ARLA survey results.

In 2009 power slipped to tenants, who were able to pick and choose rental properties or beat landlords down on rents...."Get down landlord, dirty landlord, go to your bed landlord!"

Fortunately for us the majority of landlords could take these beatings thanks to scarily low BTL mortgage interest rates. Some of us even enjoyed it, after the guilt of reaping massive financial gains, a bit of horse hair shirt wearing made us nicer people again.

The problem was a glut of 'reluctant landlords' flooding the rental market with unsold property. Well, thanks to the property price 'boomlet' that reared up in the second half of 2009 the majority of 'reluctant landlords' have thankfully sold up, reducing availability and tipping power back in to landlords, greedy little hands.

We have the power!

Apparently 2010 is the year of the reluctant tenant, poor things, and we all know how horrible landlords are, especially when we have a sense of power over them.
