National rent changes

Rent changes have been uneven across the UK according to the research compiled by BRDC & Allsop.  The research does highlight the strength of the rental market in London and the wider South-East inc the South-West.

Rents in Wales and the North West, Yorkshire and the North East continue to struggle though.  This again just reinforces how ridiculous  that a national scheme of rent control would have been.

The average rental increase for a 2 bedroom flat over the 2 years is a meagre 2.38%.  This accords with the results from the Rentindex which show national rents have barely shifted.
