Landlord exodus?

"Tenants wear you down!"
Well why are they? I mean demand for rental property has never been higher and rents are seemingly on an ever upward trajectory, so why are some landlords selling up?

In their last report Rics commented ‘surveyors report that where tenancies are coming up for renewal, some landlords  – particularly those in London and the South East – are now choosing to put their properties on the sales market, leaving fewer rental properties available.’

But may'be the simplest answer is provided by one of the readers comments, -The "retirement" possibility seems to make most sense, followed closely by the "fed up of the hassle" argument.

There's a lot to be said to for putting your feet up.
