Landlords risking life without a tenancy agreement

Research by a landlord insurance business has revealed that over 1 in 10 private landlords have no formal tenancy agreement.

It also reveals that even when a tenancy contract is in place the tenancy agreement that the landlord is trying to use may not be up to date and be legally compliant.  The research reveals that the landlords who don't use a letting agent a whopping 58% used adapted tenancy agreements from either old agent contracts or other landlords (38%).  One in five landlords found a tenancy agreement template online.
