Landlords thinking of investing in a property to let to students should have a look at the latest report on the student letting sector compiled by Knight Frank.
It reveals amongst other things that Regional prime student property outperformed London Property both in terms of capital and rental returns.
Average student rents actually fell in the capital 3.6% compared to growth of 4.1% in the regions.
Total investment returns were 8.61% in London for the year to the end of December 2010 compared to 14.65% in regional purpose built student accommodation.
