Gas safety site launched

Responsible landlords should be aware of their responsibilities in having annual gas safety checks conducted at their buy-to-let properties by an approved gas engineer.

The Health and Safety Executive have just launched a new micro site highlighting the importance of landlords responsibilities on matters concerning gas safety.

In the new spirit of austerity and public sector cost cutting. We would just like to ask the questions.

1. Why launch the site now? The legislation has been around since 1988 making them incredibly slow even for the public sector.
2. Why bother when there is so much information already available in respect of a landlords responsibility on gas safety matters?

Could it be in light of the impending cuts that senior management at this public sector quango are desperately running around trying to appear how busy and vital their services are to their new political paymasters? I wonder.

In terms of advice to landlords. Nothing new here that Property Hawk and other private websites have been providing you with for FREE at no cost to the public purse.
