Government Proposes Mandatory Insulation on Rental Property

The Government has announced plans to force landlords to insulate lofts and cavity walls on rental properties.

The Government is considering banning the renting of a property if it doesn't conform to specific insulation specifications.

The proposals would be likely to be implemented in the next five years.

These are one of a number of proposals that form the Household Energy Management Strategy which was published last week.

Future proposals from the Government are likely to include the contencious new 'landlord badge' policy.

The new policy would require landlords to wear a bright orange badge at all times, with the words " Kick me, I'm a landlord! ".

Feel free to print out one now if you want to stay ahead of future landlord regulations.

This policy has been in place for at least the last 5 years - good to see we are finally getting our own badge though.

What are they going to bring out next!? I like the badge though. Prehaps one can be drawn up for MP's!
