Lending to rise by 25% in 2014

A recent survey of 278 property investors reveals that nearly 3 in 5 expect to expand their residential portfolio in 2014.

Buy to let lending is 135% above the low recorded in 2009 of £8.5bn but is well off recorded peak of £45bn set in the heady days of 2007.

Professional landlords (those with a portfolio of more than 11 properties) 66% intend to bolster their portfolio in the new year.
