Buy-to-let rents fall again

The average buy-to-let rent in England and Wales continues to fall after hitting a recent high in the Autumn of 2010.

Specialist rent tracking site the Rent index reveals that rent are actually down 2.3% over the last 3 months at just shy of £582.

Letting agent LSL Property Services also indicate that rents dropped 0.3% in January to stand at £682 per month.

Falls were not seen right across the country with prices in London still edging up by 0.2% over the month.

Both the Rent Index and LSL figures indicate that rents are still ahead over a 12 month period with the respective indexes showing rises of 1% and 4%
