Rents surge past £600

The Rentindex the only real time measure of UK residential rents has shown a huge surge in rent levels over the last 6 months.

The latest figures show that the average residential rent using an Assured Shorthold Tenancy agreement has rocketed past £600 per calender month in the last few months.

The average rent is nearly back to it's peak recording in Sept 2008 before the effects of the down turn were really felt.

Rents have climbed sharply since April this year from £570 to surge above £600 per calender month.
