London Landlords Hit Hard at the Top End of the Rental Market
Landlords of London properties worth £1.5m or more are finding they are letting for around 25 per cent less than they were a year ago. These properties are now offering an average yield of just 3.88 per cent, the lowest on record, according to Knight Frank.
Rents for cheaper London properties, ie those with rents below £500-£1,000 per week are seeing rental levels retained.
Savills report that London flats are providing superior returns to houses. In central London, yields on flats are now reported to be 4.8 per cent, compared with 4.3 per cent on houses.
