The last nice white envelopes?

Property Sparrow has been busy opening mortgage rate letters again this morning. They’ve all been delivered on the same day this time, which is nice.

At the risk of appearing a copycat, she simply wants to mark the occasion. This might be the last time that she can open a letter from a bank in the certain knowledge that it will be confirming a new and lower interest rate.

For her little portfolio, the total monthly saving from March to April is £29.08. From May onwards, there will be a further saving of £14.17 per month. To be fair and grateful to the poor old Royal Bank of Scotland, they have cut the mortgage interest rate on one of her properties down to 1.65%.

That just leaves a three year fixed rate mortgage with the Bristol and West due to end on 1 May. With some excitement, Property Sparrow has her eyes peeled for a BS99 postmark popping through the letterbox.

In the meantime, she's off to the building society to pay in her savings for March.
