Homelet’s Rental Index figures for May

Headlines from this month’s report are:

• Average rent in the UK is now £934, up 1.6% on the same time last year
• When London is excluded, the average rent in the UK is now £776, up 1.7% on last year
• Average rents in London are now £1,602, up by 1.0% on last year
• The region with the largest year-on-year increase is Northern Ireland, showing a 4.9% increase between May 2018 and May 2019
• Of the 12 regions monitored by HomeLet, all except Yorkshire and Humberside and the North East showed an increase in rental values between May 2018 and May 2019
