We had one for about six years on Thorpe Bay seafront, Southend. It was very good for us with young children as although we were only half a mile from the seafront, we hardly went there. We gave a key to our childminder so that she could take children there on a fine day. The closest public toilet was a ten minute walk, so we installed a portaloo. Really useful as when a child has to go, they have to go now!
If there was a downside, it was the fact that it was broken into several times. Each time I made it harder, but then they obviously thought there was something worth stealing. Owners of a neighbouring beach hut challenged them once, but they said they had permission to be there!
The last time they broke in, they piled lots of stuff upon the stove and lit it. Fortunately the gas bottle ran out shortly after as there was a full one beneath the stove!
We sold it shortly after doubling our money, but not sure if it was worth the grief. If you don't visit it frequently, it needs to be really secure.
