Latest figures from MFB indicate that the rental yield from apartment blocks may be out stripping the traditional highest yields generated by Houses in Multiple Occupation.
Clearly a block of apartment can be an attractive investment giving a landlord control over the common areas and the option to realise arbitrage gains by selling off individual apartments over time. The disadvantage to an investor is that they will have to tie up more capital at the outset and Loan to Vaule may be lower than with a traditional buy-to-let investment of up to 80%.
