The charity Brighton Housing Trust has started constructing a new scheme to create 36 homes for homeless people using shipping containers. The scheme has been inspired by a Dutch concept, where containers have been used in a number of sites. The largest site in Amsterdam is constructed from 1000 containers.Each resident will have a box, with its own front door, kitchen and bathroom. The boxes provide 26 square metres of floor space.
Its clearly better than living in cardboard box - cue the eighties classic.
