Landlords accused of stereotyping benefit tenants
A Guardian blogger has written an open letter calling landlords to reconsider the merits of letting property to benefit tenants. Accusing landlords of stereotyping and a lack of respect towards benefit claimants.
Since 2002 Ive had 5 DSS tenants. Every one has left owing rent and caused damage to the property above the expected. 100% stereotype experience for me.
Sadly, I agree with the first post. The LHA system and the tenants are to blame for the lack of affordable housing in this country. Whose idea was it in the first place to pay the claimant Housing Benefit, rather than the Landlord? I should know, my tenants have been spending my rent money on holidays, pay day loans etc.
