Brit named NY worst landlord

A British man has been named as one of New York's worst landlords.

Buildings owned by Shawn Curry (43) in the Bronx; appear at 2nd and 4th place as the worst blocks as measured by the number of housing code infringements.

One block of 56 apartments owned by the Ulsterman, has been cited for 1048 separate violations.

Curry, originally from Belfast emigrated to the Big Apple in 1989 and has since built a substantial property empire.

Mr Curry denies accusations that he is a 'slum landlord' and maintains that he plans to renovate the blocks which he bought in April.
