The government has specified some of the spending cuts for the Communities and Local Government department.
- £100 million will be cut from the national affordable housing programme.
- £50 million cut from the kickstart scheme to get stalled developments off the ground.
- £140 million cut from the running costs of the CLG and its quangos – the Homes and Communities Agency and the Tenant Services Authority – and ‘lower priority programmes’.
- £186 million by getting rid of regional development agencies.
- £30 million from the Gypsy and Traveller site grants.
