Tax reprieve for holiday lets

The Telegraph reports that the tax changes for owners of holiday home owners that would have meant that their businesses would be have assessed in the same way as a buy-to-let investment have been pulled at the very last minute.

The move was part of the ‘wash-up’ process by which certain legislation goes through between the calling of an election and the dissolution of Parliament.

The tax change had been roundly criticised by many involved in the holiday lettings industry for potentially putting their jobs at risk.

Would the Tories abandon the tax change?

Would the Tories abandon this tax change if they got in? As far as I know the Conservatives have no specific policy on the taxing of holiday homes, but one suspects this tax rise would be 'kicked into the long grass.'
