Stirling Moss, celeb. landlord tips

Celebrity landlord Stirling Moss takes a bit of a tumble.

We are not talking about the value of his residential portfolio, but a freak accident in which he stepped into the lift installed in his 'space age' home. Unfortunately, the lift had malfunctioned and poor old Stirling then fell 30 ft to the bottom of the shaft sustaining several broken ankles.

Stirling's success in being a landlord could be put down to luck in that the properties that he invested in were all in the booming central London market. Stirling's portfolio comprises of 8 properties; many which he has converted into bedsits and multiple lets. Stirling has managed the portfolio himself and travels around his portfolio using a scooter. Now he's in his 80s he is passing over some of the management of his properties to his wife and son Eliot.

The secrets to Stirling success?

Stirling admits to being a workaholic being in the office from 7am to 7pm.

His tips to buy in London are West Kensington and Earls Court because of the high demand of tenants.

He doesn't trade his properties but holds for the long-term and tries to establish a long term relationship with his tenants.

Stirling doesn't think that the law is helpful to landlords. Well who would!

Property Hawk wishes Stirling a Happy Easter and a fast track to a speedy recovery.
