Any landlord with a property in southern England may be aware that two so called landlord associations have been squabbling for some time over an agreed / contested merger between the Southern Private Landlords Association (SPLA) which merged with the National Federation of Residential Landlords (NFRL) and the National Landlords Association (NLA).

The latest developments are that the Judge in the High Court ordered a questionnaire to be sent to the members of the SPLA/NRFL to find out if the case had the merit to proceed to trial. The results are not binding but will probably influence whether there is a case to answer at a forthcoming hearing.
The results were hardly conclusive but come out slightly against the merger and in support of support proceedings in the High Court seeking to reverse the transaction.
The most revealing part of the questionnaire was that out of the 5200 sent out only 1700 responded with 800 for the merger and 900 against.
Looks like the can't be bothered and who cares have a convincing victory!
