I found this site, that is for tenants to post reviews about their landlords.
The site is called
Loveyourlandlord.co.uk.
What next?
Loveyourteacher.co.uk
Loveyourmilkman.co.uk
Loveyourdentist.co.uk
Loveyourmother.co.uk
Loveyourmemberofparliament.co.uk
Loveyourfood.co.uk
Loveyourself.co.uk
Im sure there are already some x-rated versions of all of the above on the internet, so be careful before posting a Google search.
I can't see it taking off, but landlords should be on their best behaviour and be prepared to be marked out of 10 for their performance.
"That was fabulous! Fabulous! Fabulous, darling!"
Darling Margo
Ha - made me laugh, of course as a landlord - well landlady (does that sound a bit too Bet Lynch - I'm never too sure!) I am always on my best behavior! What about Loveyourtenant.co.uk? I bet that will raise a few hackles!
ReplyDeleteYou gotta love'em!
ReplyDeleteHow about mytenantisdrivingmemad.co.uk?
Darling Margo
Hehe:D
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link!
It will be very hard to trust comments about landlords written by someone I don't know, so not to worry;)
Sincerely,
your loyal tenant
As is often the case with the internet, who can say that any negative or positive comments about landlords and letting agents are not the product of either self promotion or parties who would benefit from any criticisms - ie, competing letting agents and landlords.
ReplyDeleteIt's been attempted before and failed.
I understand your concern. However, I think the site is a good idea.
ReplyDeleteI recently moved house, and feel aggrieved by the experience I had with my former landlady. She didn't break any laws, but she took advantage of us and behaved in a completely immoral way.
I don't wish to harm her in any way, but I do wish that
(1) I could have asked her for references before signing a contract with her, the way she demanded references from us (which we had to pay for).
(2) I could tell prospective tenants about our experience, so they can go into a potential tenancy with their eyes open rather than going in blind.
Of course few agencies or landlords would provide references without a legal obligation to do so, and as that legal obligation doesn't exist, review sites are the next best thing.
