End terraces out-perform squeezed middle

Savills have analysed the values of an end of terrace over its squeezed mid-terrace neighbours.

Unsurprisingly, living at the end carries a premium.

The bonus's of having a single noisy neighbour, some additional views out to the side, potential for side-tensions or grabbing some off-street parking boost the average values.

Numbers crunched using Land Registry data from 2015 sales puts the highest premium of an end over a mid terrace at 18% in the regions of the West Midlands and the North West. An average West Midlands end-of-terrace costs £170,634 compared with a mid at £144,573.The North West's 'end' average was £140,781, whereas its average 'mid' was just £119,347.

The average end terrace premium over a mid is 11.0%.
