Eltham landlord fined £19,720

Eltham landlord, Siteworth Ltd pleaded guilty to nine offences at Bexleyheath Magistrates’ Court on June 9th.

The charges were regarding a poorly maintained two storey Victorian detached property let out as eight bedsits.

The court heard evidence on the poor state of repair of the property - rotten window frames, mould and damp, no heating in the hallways and no hot water in four of the bedsits, some for as long as four years.

Timothy Knight, Siteworth's director had allegedly told tenants to "boil a kettle" when they had complained about not having hot water.
