MoJ eviction data for Q3 2014

Evictions have hit record levels this quarter according to Ministry of Justice figures.

11,100 rental properties were repossessed by bailiffs during Q3 2014.

The rise has been blamed on an increasing number of evictions in the social housing sector following the financial pressure of the 'bedroom tax on tenants.

No doubt the press will blame "evil landlords" rather than identifying Tory policy as the true culprit.

It was the labour government who brought this in for private tenants. The tories are only bringing things into line. Why should council tenants have more rights than private?
