'Beds in sheds' in Bradford

The Daily Mail has done a piece on renting 'beds in sheds' in Bradford.

The grim conditions were photographed by a builder, showing how immigrants paid £20 a week to sleep in a garage or a shed, with a bucket for a toilet.

Bradford Council’s Assistant Director for Housing, David Shepherd said of the situation in the Whetley Hill area of the city.

'If we discover people living in the conditions described we would use enforcement powers to prevent the use of the property and prosecute any person who failed to comply with a Prohibition Order. A Landlord could face a fine of up to £5,000 for breaching the order.'
