After falling more than 6% between early 2008 and the beginning of this year average asking rents have climbed every month during 2010 moving from £804 in January to £839.

Nigel Lewis, property analyst at FindaProperty.com comments:

"Rents have gone from strength to strength during the first half of 2010. The resurgence of the sales market has left tenants short of options and the result has been increasing rental prices. "

However, in looking at achieved rents being charged by landlords; real time rental tracking website the Rentindex indicates that rents have been more stable.
