Softy softly approach by landlord associations shown to fail

We have been repeatedly told by the National Landlords Association ( NLA) and the like that what landlords get by joining their club is an organisation that can lobby Ministers to safeguard the interests of landlords in a way us mere mortals can’t. In so doing the inference is that these organisations have the ear of Housing and Planning Ministers and can safeguard their interests. The events of the last few weeks highlights the limited effect that these organisations actually have in lobbying the politicians. It does lead one to question? What landlords do get for their £70+ a year membership fee?

Maybe somebody could explain the benefits.

I for one have had some great advice from their helpline over the years, and as its a tax deductible expense it doesn't cost the full fee payable.

Also if there were no organisations such as this then the Blubberment would have a totally unopposed playing field. If you read their magazine they claim to be very listened to, but it fairness it generally seems to be from the opposition parties.

Seems Labour are one step removed from a dictatorship anyway so why would you expect them to listen to anyone, they haven't so far, and with their dying days they are free to cock it up all the more for the next government to sort out.
