Landlord licence - landlords are not alone!

Any landlord that might think that we are being singled out by this 'controlling' government with their plans for a landlord licence, HMO licence, planning permission for HMO properties with only 3 tenants may take some comfort in the fact that landlord are not alone.

This barrage of bureacracy is being heaped on everybody in a last ditched attempt by this government to carry favour with every 'right on' interest group going.

The latest group to get it is proprietors of lap dancing clubs will now from April require a sex establishment licence.

The reason is to give local people a say over the impact of having club near them. But they already do through the existing licencing laws and planning controls.

This is not a case whether or not you think that lap dancing clubs are good or bad. To me it just reflects a government that believes it's own spin that everything should be controlled by more a more complicated regulation and legislation because each of us are unable to make the 'right choice'.

Post your comments quick. There are rumours that the government are looking at a licence for blog postings.
