Rents turning down - over the last month

The rentindex which tracks real time AST rents has show a sharp rebound in rents over the year.

However, after a period of stagnation over the last 3 months rents have taken a turn down by 0.8% over the last month to an average of £588.50

Could the downturn in the economy be catching up with rents as tenants look to reduce their costs and landlords keen to avoid a void keep rents competitive.
