Property Manager - do we need a variable first period payment?

Several landlords have highlighted recently that they often take an irregular payment for the first rental period. For instance if the tenant moves in during the middle of a month they may take a first period of say 6 weeks rent so that future payments fall due on the 1st of each month.

Currently the Property Manager only allows regular rental payments, for instance so that the rent falls due on the same day each month. We were wondering whether other landlords using our property management software would like the opportunity to put in an irregular first payment.
