Private Sector Housing Conference 23-24 April

The Northern Consortium is holding a conference called ‘The Future Contribution and Potential of Private Sector Housing’ in Harrogate on 23 and 24 April.

Unfortunately there’s a fee of £389+VAT but it sounds as if there are some experienced speakers and a range of subjects under discussion. The emphasis may be on how the public sector sees the delivery of housing by the private sector.

The programme includes a discussion about ‘studentification’, an update on fire safety regulations, a review of the Housing Benefit Allowance. Dr Julie Rugg of York University is to talk about why tenants become homeless and Simon Llewellyn, Head of Private Sector Renting and Leasehold in Communities and Local Government, is to explain the Government’s response to the
Rugg Review on the future of the private sector. Here is the programme for the conference.

If all the talk of regulations makes you peckish and you want to treat yourself there’s always Betty's of Harrogate.
